About the event
In this workshop, we'll use sunlight to make silhouette prints of treasured items using a process known as cyanotype. You can bring your own props to use for your prints or explore the many props provided by the facilitator. We will learn about the history and techniques of cyanotype and make several fabric prints to take home. These make great one-of-a-kind gifts or unique art for your own home!
Lillie Bahrami (@solarstain) is a Lakewood artist who has been working with cyanotypes since 2018. A few of her favorite subjects for prints include Lego flowers, silk chiffon, and feathers from the magpies in her yard!

Participation includes handling chemicals which are poisonous if eaten, and may involve handling sharp objects if participants choose. Nitrile gloves will be provided, but there is still a common sense level of risk! Liability waiver is required for sign-up.
